The year 1942 saw the emergence of A.M.AHAMED,&CO., with business experience and tireless
efforts of seven partners in Adirampattinam,Thanjavur District. The Founder and Managing
partner, Late Janab M.Abdul Jabbar, a great visionary with an impulsive flair for Business and of
indomitable courage, was the guiding force, Furthermore, he had the humane and
benevolent qualities in philanthropy, discipline, humbleness, co-operation that are vitally
needed in managing a work force leading to the initial formation of the company.
Emboldened by its unabated success, in its chosen fields of activities, in Adirampattinam,
further the company shifted to Madras in 1943 and the Partnership was registered with the
Registrar of Firms in December 1945.
EXPORTS & AIR CARGO
The company enjoys as an accredited Export House since 1988. Agricultural commodities
such as Chilies, Groundnuts, Jaggery, Turmeric, Onions, Potatoes are the core item of its
export. Export obviously occupies the pride of place in the company business since its
inception.
A.M.Ahamed &Co added air cargo services in the year 2010 from Trichy international airport
and is steadily handling of perishables goods and general cargo regular services mainly to Far
East sectors.
STEVEDORING
A.M.Ahamed & Co are the pioneers and reputed stevedores of Tuticorin port for the past 55
years. First to introduce the new system of bagging of bulk food grains on board the vessel and
discharging into the barges in the year 1965,and handling 4 million MT of break bulk & dry bulk
cargo in a year.

A.M.Ahamed & Co offers Steamer Agency services since 1960.The company has handled
more than 500 vessels as the agents appointed by charters as well as owners agents in Tuticorin
port & Chennai port, we have good expertise staff to provide service 24×7 to act as vessels
agent, for handling general cargo, bulk cargo ships. We promptly provide Detailed itemised
PDA, immediate & correct reporting to principals about all activities of the ship in the port upon
vessel arrival and ensure prompt turnaround for the vessels.
